To Our Soccer Families & Friends,
We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that, just as your player is still developing their skills and learning the game, so are our Youth Referees. They will call the game to the best of their abilities, but there may be calls missed. There may be mistakes made. They will not see the game from the same vantage point you did, so their calls may be different than you would like.
While it may be easy to yell and blame the referee for the lost game, please keep this in mind - without our referees, most of your players would not have games. Without our Youth Referees, we would not have enough referees to host all the games we do. Our Youth Referees are volunteering their time, so that your player may compete. Please show our referees the respect they deserve and practice patience and understanding with our Youth Referees. Mistakes may be made, but we are all learning out there, from our players to our coaches to our referees. Please do your part to make the soccer season a positive, fun experience for all involved.
Thank you,
Jennifer Puckett, Regional Commissioner, Referee & Proud Mom of a Youth Referee
Michael Sanders, Regional Referee Admin, Referee & Proud Dad of a Youth Referee
Anna Nozkowski, Regional Registrar, Referee & Youth Referee Mentor
